The dealer did the window tint. Very nice job. Did maximum allowed: 35% side windows, 20% rear window.

Funny you should ask. It is the Supercharged XJ. However, the car came with a SuperSport badge on the driver's side vent instead of Supercharged. Now I know it's a true British car!!

Great, thanks for answering. So did you get a chance to play around with the center (nav, controls, etc) interface, and if so, how do you like it?

No roof noise, or any other squeaks or rattles.

Bottom line for me: This car has it all. Best combination of performance and handling, luxury, and beautiful design.

How long did it take for you to get your car after you ordered it?

There is a "heartbeat" lag in the response of the unit. Once I realized that, and expect it, it isn't an issue for me at all. I'm getting used to the menu structure, and it's not hard to become efficient with working through the system. It's not quite as easy to use as Audi's MMI, but it's better than my 2011 Porsche Cayenne, and much better than the BMW iDrive.

I know people have complained about the interface here, but it doesn't detract from the driving experience at all (unlike the iDrive). Plus, the sound system is absolutely one of the best I've experienced. I just turn up the volume, kick in the supercharger, and, if there are any minor annoyances, they just melt away.

I placed the order at the beginning of July, it was locked in on July 18, and arrived at the dealer on Sept 28.

Sorry Jffcurt, but the tailpipe finishers are not my thing.

However, I am installing a leaper on the front hood. I know a lot of people here don't like that look, but, IMHO, it's not a true Jaguar without it.

My dealer has installed leapers on several XJ's and XF's. Said XJs looks great, but the slope of the hood on the XF is a problem. I'll post pictures.

I just got back from my dealer (my 1st annual scheduled maintenance after a year of problem-free driving, except for the now fixed-for-good roof-pop thing of course). I saw one XF with the Leaper and a new XJ with the Leaper fitted. I must say, it doesn't look terrible on the XJ (looks a bit strange on the XF). Aside from the aforementioned hood slope, I think both installations suffer esthetically because the Leaper is set too far back on the hood (looks odd in profile). The German tuning/parts house, Arden makes their own version of the Leaper that is designed to sit forward on the hood - looks better IMHO.

BTW, my dealer wants around $1,000 for the Leaper and installation.

FWIW, mine is charging less than half that amount.

Barry,

Beautiful color combination. Is the C pillar on your car painted the same color as the rest of the car? It appears so in the picture. In your judgement how is the Azurite Blue different from the Indigo Blue?

Thanks,

Mike

Wow, great deal, and sounds about right. I questioned the $1,000 quote, dealer said the Leaper part is around $400, the remainder was for labor. He said that it wasn't just a simple operation of drilling a couple of holes, but that the entire hood needs to be removed to do the install correctly (alignment, bracing).

The C pillar is the stock black color. I think it's just the photos.

It's a darker, richer shade to me. In addition, it looks black in certain light. I really like that!

Never saw the combo but it's a great great color. Congrats. In fact, congrats to all. We all have beauties.

I was just in LA for about a week and saw two black ones the whole time. All Mercedes for the ladies and Beemers for the dreamers. We are a lucky minority with exceptionally fine taste.
