Default New XJL SC Owner (Bay Area)

Hey guys my name is Johncy. I just picked up this 2012 XJL Supercharged in Black with Ivory interior. So far I have installed K&N Filters and a Mina Gallery Exhaust w/ Xpipe. Ecu Tuning Group will be tuning my car next week along with the pulley. Also upgrading the wheels to 22" Forgestar F14 in Gunmetal 245/30/22 and 295/25/22. Glad to be here everyone and am excited to learn from all of you! Cheers!

Congrats! Please post sound clips of your Mina exhaust before and after the ETG pulley and tune. Also, if you can, dyno runs data before and after the pulley/tune would be really helpful.

Wow, your car could be called "Black Beauty"; very striking!

As an engineer I can't endorse K&N filters unless for sound effects, just like Mina Gallery Exhaust with cross-pipes.

Likewise, I too would love to see any documentation that their is a significant improvement before the ETG pulley and tune, as far as I know this has never been provided by anyone.

I guess "upgrading" is a subjective term when putting 22" wheels on a car that normally rides best on 19" wheels. I hope the roads in the Bay area are as smooth as a pool table top.

Thank you John. Changing out the exhaust and air filters really made a big difference to me. 6th gear acceleration is just so effortless now compared to before. I'd say it adds more response but not nessesaarily hp. It's hard to describe but you definitely feel the difference.
As for the 22s, I just want to fill the wheel well gaps and give the car a more aggressive stance. Here in the Bay Area, there are Tesla Model S all over the place riding on 21" wheels from the factory with low profile tires. Roads aren't too bad unless your in downtown SF.

Changing wheels, but accounting for the lower aspect ratio on the tires will still not change the wheel well gaps IMHO.

Congrats on your purchase of a final automobile. Also, welcome to this forum.
Try to check this site either daily or in the evenings because a wealth of information is
shared by well informed Jaguar owners.

Thanks xjsss and retriever. Are there any Jaguar meets or get togethers?
Will be dynoing my car soon and look forward to the results after Tune and pulley with filters, xpipe, and exhaust.

Default Don't listen to these old men on here...LOL

22" wheels are so perfect for this car, in my case Forgiato's, that if I had to go back to the oem 19's for any reason, I'd literally sell my car and buy a Tesla. My 22's are the reason I love my car, not just like it.

You're doing it exactly right! Go with your instincts.

The first pic is the wheel on my car, the second was a wheel I saw on a black XJ at the dealership in San Jose that I thought looked ridiculously good. It was an Asanti 806 that was all black with brushed spokes. It drew a crowd.

All I can say is damn. Forgiatos are sick but really pricey. Money no object HRE or Forgiato. Here is my current setup right now.
