I have searched the forum and similar questions have been discussed here. But as far as I have seen only for the B&W system.

My issue: I have the stock 400W standard sound system in my MY11 (blame the former owner ;-) ). Whenever I fade the sound completely to the rear there is no bass at all, it sounds just like a cheap AM radio. Sounds like the only source for bass sound are the front speakers.

Is there a sub woofer (or any bass speaker) in the rear in my setup? If so, then there is definitely something malfunctioning. Or is the sound "quality" that I am experiencing from the rear "by design"?

I am still troubled by this and want to investigate now. There are some relatively large speakers underneath the back shelf (visible from inside the trunk) and it looks like they have no function at all right now. I have read about water in the trunk causing amplifier failure, maybe that's the problem.

Can someone please get me some information about the rear amplifier in the standard 400W sound setup of a MY11? The position of the amp and its wiring would be very helpful.

 

Check this link to Meridian as the speaker complement and locations are the same for their 380w system as is your "Jaguar 600w premium Audio with 14 speakers". IMHO the only change was the head unit to Meridian from the Harmon Kardon/Alpine. https://www.meridian-audio.com/automotive/jaguar/xj/ .
