No sound with rear USB movies
I have a 2011 XJ with rear seat entertainment.
When I play a dvd, everything is fine for both front and rear.
When I play an xvid/divx avi movie from a usb plugged into the front center armrest, it plays fine with sound. However, the rear does not have an option to play the same movie from that front USB.
Then I plugged the usb into the rear center armrest, and the video plays but I get no audio through the headset. Is anyone experiencing this.

This is a little off your topic but I was under the impression that the XJ's had the same hook ups in the rear center armrest as the front. Mine doesn't at least that I can find. Do you only have those if you have rear seat entertainment???????
From my understand for some dumb reason the front USB port is not supported by the rear entertainment system. Are you saying when you plug it in the rear you do not get sound from the headsets?
No it is not common. I have no problem with getting sound from the rear USB port for movies. I wouls suggest trying different movies. But if you get sound from the front you should get sound from the rear. I would see if you can play mp'3 through the rear plug. If you don't get sound then there is probably something wrong with you system. Also, you can try the radio through the rear as well to see if you get sound.
It plays fine in the front with audio.
No sound if plugged into the rear. In the rear, I can get movies from DVD to play fine with sound. Can also listen to radio fine with rear headphones.
Have not tried rear usb mp3.
