I have changed the oil filter on my XFS, XFR and F-Type so many times I have lost count and never once used a torque wrench and never once had a problem.
For the last 5 or 6 years I have used a fluted cap tool like the one shown in post # 85.
Every time I have found that with gentle torque the filter canister reaches a certain point and just stops dead and it would obviously take excessive torque to turn it any tighter so there it stays, who knows if that is 25 Nm or not.

Be keen to hear what those of you down under (Aust/NZ) are using. I've been using Penrite 5W-20 full synth for 2 years and do my oil changes every 6 months. Suitable for vehicles that require 0W-20 (takes care of the TSB recommendation) and meets specs: Ford M2C946-A, 948-A, 948-B, 930-A along with STJLR.03.5004 and STJLR.51.5122.

I have been using the exact same oil as you for a few years now in my XFR and F-Type, and before that I used Nulon full synthetic 5W-20, and I also changed the oil and filter every six months.
But just on a year ago now I switched to Penrite 0W-20, not because it is the recommended weight but because it is ILSAC GF-6A while the 5W-20 is not (it is still GF-5).
Read up on GF-6A and you will see it was formulated specifically to eliminate low speed pre-ignition in forced induction engines and reduce timing chain wear. I haven't read of low speed pre-ignition in our engines (AJ133 V8 and AJ126 V6) but timing chain wear is a well known problem.
I have also decided to stretch the oil change interval back out to 12 months because I don't do a helluva lot of kms any more, these days it's only around 5,000 km per annum, and I figure 5,000 km between oil changes is adequate and 2,500 km is overkill.
