I have been doing quite a lot of research on engine oils due to X351 timing set issues including a change of spec by Jaguar in some countries for the AJ series engines in our vehicles, additionally due to reading of some who have spun bearings etc.
Been learning quite alot, and have been overwhelmed by layman vidoes of some scant fact and alot of uneducated fiction on you tube and really some very backyard comparisons that may not have any realworld application on the inside of an internal combustion engine.
So anyway i came across this link in another forum specific to oils and oil engineering and thought i would share for those who like to read or just have a genuine interest in trying to define the difference between big or small motor oil company spin for consumers and the basic facts of what may be more understandable or even applicable to the average petrol head in an effort to truly delineate facts from marketing.
Its a very, very long but informative read, but there is ample pertinent useful info in there for those who choose to read from beginning to end.

I am not trying to start arguments here, nor do i profess to know it all, as i certainly do not, so take from the info whatever you please or discard it in whole, makes no difference to me, at the least its an interesting read.
