Default Paint Colour. Midnight 2003 Mc 1959
I am about to buy a 2007 XJ K Convertable the Jag spec sheets shows Midnight 2003 Mc 1959
But the car looks a dark blue to me.
Can you help clarify from this paint code?

Hmm, I think your buying an XK convertible, not an XJ-K. Why not post in the forum for the XK from 2005 ?

My last XKR was midnight and it does indeed look very dark blue in some lights.

You are so right definatel a XK R. And colur does look different in different daylight.
