Default Parking assist broken or just useless.

I just bought a 2019 XJL Collection. When I drive past a space with the blinker on it does nothing. The little orange light is on the touchscreen. I read the instructions several times. I'm stumped. I find the other assistance gadgets don't work too well either.

Stephen,

I've moved your question from General Tech Help to X351 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

I tried posting there before with no luck. Same thing again. Is it a hard question?

Try calling your dealer of Jaguar for assistance.

I have the feature in my vehicle. I don’t use the blinker at all. I just press the button and the car does the rest. I believe it only looks for spots on the passenger side.

I find it so incredibly useless that I could care less if it works at all. Pretty much like the soft close doors.

I only have a "button" on the bottom right on the touch screen. Am I missing a button? That button just turns on the system it seems.

I just have a button as well. Press it and you should see it acknowledged in the dash. Select if you want it to parallel park, perpendicular park or I forgot what the other option is. I believe it’s getting you out of a parallel spot. I don’t use any signals.

When I press the button, the led on the button flashes a few times, but that's it. No box pops up. No lights on the dash. Nothing.

You are pressing the parking aid sensor button. That’s not the same as park assist. The button you pressing is for the sensors around the car in case you get too close to something it’ll beep.

The button circled in the picture is the park ASSIST. That button will give you what your looking for. That’s what I press then the car does the steering.

Hello, maybe this video will help. It's an XF but I believe the same principle applies to the XJ

I don't have that button. Does this mean I don't have the feature? Though it was on all 2019 XJL's. Maybe they skimped for the Collection Edition?

Doesn’t look like you have the feature.

According to the 2019 Brochure Parking assist was only standard on the XJR 575 and optional on all other RWD models.

Funny, it has every other forward assist feature. It keeps me in the lane. The device that spins the steering wheel would be the major cost. It makes no sense to leave out the parking? The video in my online manual shows the blinker initializiing it. It would be nice if I could get a dealer to call me back.

My '18 575 has it, never used it. There is a button just below the screen that you have to press, then cycle through the options. I think the only reason for selecting the indicators is to tell the car which side you want to park? Sorry I can't be more help.

I have no such button. That really disappoints me. Here it's a special edition and they skimp on something like that.

They also skimped on the 575 engine and velocity blue paint?

Get what you pay for.
