photos of my car intake valves
Don't look too bad, but are those the worst of the bunch? I recently cleaned mine on the XF while I had the intake off to access the front and rear PA66 nylon crossover tubes for replacement at 51K miles. I noticed the valves closest to the PCV ports were much worse than the valves farther away. It wouldn't be a difficult job at all with the walnut blaster equipment, but I did it with a can of carb cleaner, various shaped brushes, dental picks and a homemade vacuum aspirator. The hardest part is just being able to see to work on them. Unless you are eight feet tall, the distance from the perimeter of the car to the rearmost valves is greater than the distance between your eyes and where you are hinged at the hip. You'd need what mechanics call a topside creeper. I rigged up a homemade facsimile from some scrap lumber.
These are the photos that been sent to me from the Jaguar dealer who are replacing the snout of the supercharger, so I don't know their exact location, I will ask him, also I told them to replace the front and the back crossover pipes as a precaution.
