Default Postman brought me a present....Mafioso intake...

Well just wanted to throw up some pics of the intake I just got a few minutes ago. Threw it on right away. Its the Riski Red (RIP). In case some of you wanted to see what it ended up looking like.
Before

What the nice postman brought.

Matches the Calipers perfect.

And now installed.

Hope you guys like.
Next time I head up to Michigan I'm gonna have my buddy who did my vinyls for my calipers make me a nice black vinyl with the RIP Riski logo some of you are sporting in your sigs and put it on the intake.

Excellent color bruh! I like it! The only thing that kinda scares me are those long screws but other than that it looks sweet. How long did it take you to get it installed?

I love the intake, but please keep in mind this is a Jaguar and not a Honda!

If I see red wire loom, or vaccum lines, I might just throw up a bit in my mouth!

Take care,

George

LOL. I am not gonna go that extreme. I'm thinking if I do anything else red it will either be the valve covers or the Jaguar letters on the coil covers. If I dont do that it may be the supercharged on the intercoolers. Just something else to kinda blend the intake in with the rest of the engine bay. No wire looms or vacuum lines.

Jaguar007 it took about 10 minutes tops to install. I didnt have Mafioso cut my clamps so you dont have to have them that long. They dont hit anything in the bay or the hood if you put them that way. I will be cutting them down this weekend since I'm gonna be cleaning the throttle body and doing plugs hopefully so I'll have it all ripped apart again and can trim them up.

Feels amazing. Throttle response is quicker. Blower whine is NICE. Butt dyno is giving 3 thumbs up. Tires break loose alot easier then before. Definitly getting some more ponies. Definitly worth it.

After I clean up the throttle body and put in fresh fluids, filters, and plugs, I'll get a video of some acceleration runs on the private backroads. I am all stock besides this and now a K&N.

Take care buddy..

I can make a video of the throttle body since I will have it out for the plugs video. I will not be doing the coolant line bypass at the moment. My expansion tank is starting to leak at the overflow line. So I'm gonna take care of that before I go bypassing any lines. I dont loose coolant but I can see it sweating out so it will probably leak sometime in the future. So I'm not gonna mess with anything coolant related till I get a change to fix that.

Looks great! Why did you decide to go with a K&N?

Not to start a K&N war. I mainly put it in cause of price and convienance. Where I live none of the autoparts stores carry an air filter for an STR. I usually have to order off the internet. After shipping and the filter 2 filters would of paid for the K&N. I can get the K&N cleaning kit at my local parts store. On my last car the cleaning kit lasted me a few cleanings. So I'm just gonna make sure I go light on the oiling when I clean it and run it. Plus when Mafioso did his dyno run with the prototype he got 13hp with the intake tube and K&N so I figured I would just copy his setup for that run. I'm going to be cleaning my throttle body this weekend. It will be a chance for me to see if the week of driving has caused the K&N oil to get all over the throttle body and the intake. I also found the K&N for 35 with shipping with was a really good deal. My last paper filter just never gave me the security that it fit like it should and the K&N fits perfect.

Vance you dog! Riski's intake elbow just "bam"s! that engine compartment. Yer STR has shapen up very nicely. The elbow, 3 lb pulley, NGK plugs, and TB coolant by-pass to be done end of next week.

I cant wait to hear your thoughts. You are gonna love the noise the blower puts out. Nice and tame just cruising but when you hit the pedal its like a jet going down the road. I love the way eatons sound.

Here is a pic with the engine cover in place.

The t-bolts interferred with the engine cover so on the clamp next to the intake I used the t-bolt and put it upside down. On the clamp that goes to the boot next to the intake I used the existing clamp off of the original. The T-bolt was really tight against all the supercharger coolant lines to put under there.

It is pouring down rain here. I took it up and down our road and the traction control kicked on every time I throttled it even a little with the wet roads. My daughter jumped in it right when she got home from school and wanted to take it out. We live in the country and I could definately hear the intake noise from the house as she pulled out and accelerated down the road. She didn't get on it hard enough to hear the supercharger though. Can't wait for the roads to dry up to go try it.

Is anybody hard resetting the ECU for this?
