Good job pale rider. I'm considering removing the plastic intake cover too. Wonder if more heat will be allowed to escape to keep the charge coolers "cooler"?

Is anybody hard resetting the ECU for this?

anytime I make a change I always do a hard reset. Sensors, mods, maint.

Its always a good idea to let the car unlearn bad behaviors lol.

Yes it will, the underside of the cover is insulated.

So when are you making the "Mafioso Performance" license plate frames?

The sopranos font would be kind of cool LOL...

Edit:

A quick mock up lol:

Take care,

George

How are you going to go about doing the Hard Reset to the ECU?

Disconnect the battery. Touch the positive and negative cables. Wait 30 mins. Replace.

Start car.

Set parking brake, auto up / down windows / roof etc...

Take care,

George

Thanks George ..so you mean disconnect both the pos and neg terminals and touch them together for 30mins? Could I also just disconnect the neg terminal only and have it touched to the positive thats connected to the battery for 10mins, will that be safe to do?

I'd disconnect both terminals. And you probably only have to hold them for a min or two for the capacitors in the modules to discharge.

Take care,

George

Brings up some more questions. I have never done this to any of our Jags. When we used to race SCCA I did it before every race on our Mitsubishi 3000GT and what a difference.

What is the procedure to "reteach" the parking brake, auto up, windows and sunroof. Is there a thread somewhere that talks about it?

Ohhh man ohh man...when you said Mitsu 3000GT, did you mean the VR4? I use to have a VR4 waayy back in HS. At that time it was a super contender with the Toyota Supra turbos. YOu just brought back some good old memories

Parking brake:

Start car keep foot on brake, pull up on brake handle till message dissapears in the dash.

Windows / Roof

Roll up and hold button in up position for 2 sec, repeat for down position for each window.

Same thing with roof but you need to do open, close and tilt.

Take care,

George

I recieved my Mafioso intake this week (thank you Mafioso!) - my mail lady was too lazy to walk the package down my driveway and see if anyone was home to sign for it, so I had to go pick it up at the post office...grrrrr

But anyway, I went to work on it last night and got it installed. Wasn't bad at all, the only part that I struggled with a little bit was the clamp that holds the rubber sleeve to the new intake tube where it mates to the top of the engine intake (not the one actually on the engine intake, the one on the new intake tube itself).

Like mentioned previously, there is very little space between the bottom of the new intake tube and some of the coolant hoses for the blower. Actually the bottom of the clamp is in contact with one of the hoses. I tried using one of the existing worm-drive clamps instead but had the same issue so I just went with the T-clamp since it is more stout.

I did put a little scratch on the new intake tube from one of the clamps. Should polish out though.

I did fasten the T-clamps in such a way that I could replace the supercharger/intake plastic cover without a problem. I also secured the PCV hose with zip ties just for extra security. I'll get the pics uploaded soon.

Havent' driven it yet, since it snowed here last night. It does sound much better though...can't wait for a drive!!!

Thanks for the heads-up on the Mafioso elbow guys. The 3 lb pulley, Mafioso intake elbow, and NGK plugs go in end of next week.
