The owners manual says not to use gas with more than 10% ethanol, was wondering if any of you use gas containing ethanol? if i were to switch to fuel containing no ethanol after using gas with this percentage or lower would it harm the engine? any advice would be appreciated...

 

a very high level of ethanol is bad for the engine but putting 10% in helps keep the emission levels low and doesn't hurt the engine. running lower level of ethanol will make the engine run better but you wont see any increase in gas mileage. also if your engine internally fails and they find you used the wrong gas no warrenty for you. also 90% of gas stations fuels all have 10% ethanol. no point in switching levels. not going to help you or the car.

 

There is no E10 gas that is legally more than 10%, your car is made for it, so what's the problem?
