Default rear speakars, exposed ?

Hi there,

Just noticed a thing the other day - my rear speakers are exposed, from the trunk.

Is this normal ?

Should be a protection of some sorts ?

I was pushing a lot of groceries into the car and I noticed this - but if I didnt knew, I could cram the trunk and possible damage.

Can you guys look in your trunks and see if its the same ?

Same for my 2011 XJ...pretty sure these are free-air subs designed to use the trunk space as their enclosure

This is normal. Mine are the same and I checked with my dealer.

it's very worrying when putting things in the boot especially if your loading your boot up with someone helping you and embarrassingly you have to tell them to be careful to mind the speakers.

You'd assume there would be some sort of metal cage cover.
