I seem to remember the first car I looked at the trunk popped open when she hit the trunk button on the key fob, my car now when I hit the remote the trunk unlocks but requires me to lift it up to open. If yours does perhaps either I need to free up the hinges or get new struts/shocks...

 

Mine just unlocks. Given how far it opens, not sure I would want it to do anything different.

No pop for me either.

 

I've had two XKRs and both just unlock from the Fob key, with the height of the door it would probably cause issues if it fully opened

My XKR simply unlocks, but my XJ lid raises to the fully open position.

 

My 2010 xkr only opens also
