Hey All,
I have a 2016 XJL, I have made the dreadful decision to go back to school and remembering how much time I spent in 2005 in my 05’ X-Type (Loathe the library) I figured I should enquirer about retrofitting at least one if not two rear business trays to make my backseat more conducive to doing school work. Buying them new is completely out of the question as the cheapest I have found ONE tray (not including anything else like new seat trim or various required hardware) is around $3800 for just one 😂🤣🤪🔫 I found this used one for about $2K (Picture below) and my question is do you think it will fit on my 16 XJL without doing any extensive reworking and if so, would I need to purchase anything else or could I just remove my current seat back and install this one? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Mark

PS: also any idea where I can find these any cheaper I just don’t understand why they are so damn expensive they don’t even have the wood trim on them like the 2010 through 2013 MY where I can find two sets of them on eBay right now for $200 bucks

I’d like to do this upgrade too, but for this price I’d rather upgrade the whole car…

I have an idea. Why don’t you hire an XJ Autobiography, swap the trim and return the hired XJ with no trays. No one’s gonna notice 🤣🤣🤣

I had the same thought already !! no one would notice...... that is if I could even freaking find someone with an XJ who has these tray tables, I don't understand if they are just going to sit in their warehouse why wouldn't they just put them on like a crazy good sale and sell their products like who is in charge of sales merchandising at JLRNA?!!! I actually thought they were attempting to execute this strategy last summer where I was able to get both lighted door sills for the front for like 80 bucks total for both of them when they were and are $200 apiece and if you had a long wheelbase they were 300 apiece in the back obviously I jumped on them. Same with the black 20" Jag OEM venom wheels they went on sale last May/June 2021 and I was able to get a brand new set of four with shipping to my house $1000 for all four of the wheels from the factory. well they're back to about $1100 each plus shipping so I don't know what they are doing over there
