Very easy DIY installation:
Step 1. Lay the spoiler on the trunk lid and align it with equal gaps on both sides.
Step 2. Put a piece of masking tape on the top edge of the spoiler and another piece of masking tape on the trunk lid adjacent to the tape on the spoiler, so you can mark both pieces of tape as an alignment guide for installing the spoiler on the trunk.
Step 3. The spoiler attaches to the trunk lid with double-sided 1/2" 3M auto trim tape. Prep the trunk lid and spoiler surfaces to remove all wax/grease and then wipe with 3M adhesion primer to insure a good bond. Put 2 rows of tape across the bottom of the upper inside of the spoiler and carefully align the marks on the masking tape.
Step 4. Press down and you're done!
I installed it on April 8, 2015 and have had no problems.
My late father used to say that spoilers were well named as he felt they ruined the look of many cars. In the case of the XJ, I have to agree with him. The 351 is perfect as is. JMNSHO.
Definitely without for me, unless you have the R or supersport models, but with the caveat that the earlier cars without all the JAGUAR badges look better without and those with the badges need something to break the clutter from the clean lines of the car.
If you notice the photos in this thread are largely split along those same lines and all look good.

I can't make my mind up either way but this is a very good point for consideration.
The spoiler/splitter package was offered from M2012 to MY2015 as a part of "Speed Package" for both Supersport and 470hp SC XJs (you had to select both Speed and Sport Packages) and in that package was included red brake calipers, recalibrated speedometer, and the top speed was increased from 155mph to 174mph. Then in 2016 Jaguar offered the SWB XJ Sport that, like the old XJ Sport offered all the XJR body enhancements, but no grunt. Personally I like the Speed Package and ordered it on my SuperSport. Lastly I really like the looks of the factory rear spoiler to the aftermarket spoilers, especially as it was developed along with the front splitter to accommodate the increased top speed.
This applies to USA market, other markets may vary.
I also want to add the OEM spoiler to my 2014 XJL. I found part
Jaguar-XJ-Rear-Spoiler-c2d22636xxx to order. When I check to see if it compatible with my 2014 XJL, it states that it is not. Yet it is compatible with a 2015. I am confused. I thought both trunk lids were identical for those 2 years. Please help.
C2D22636xxx is the correct part number for the XJ rear spoiler. The trunk lid is the same across from 2012-2016. If you look-up the trunk lid part number it's the same from 2012-2016 (I didn't look but I'm sure it's the same for 2011).
Guys,
Just a heads up.... I purchased a spoiler for the trunk of my Caviar colored XJ L S/C on EBay from" The Spoiler Company." It was around $250 and it's one of the best buys I've made. The fit and color match are perfect. I highly recommend if you are in the market for one.
