Default Suspension air compressor runs frequently

Hope everyone is doing well. I am a new XJ owner. Just imported one from Singapore. 2015 Xj. When I received it, it was sagging low at the back. After reading all the forums, and a lot of spending money I was able to fix it for the most part. However, the compressor runs frequently while’s I am driving never for too long, maybe for like 10 seconds or less. I had the scanner on my car when I was driving it to ensure that the temperature never got too high, it never did. But I am still weary that the compressor will wear out a lot quicker than it should. Can someone advise if this is normal (I don’t think it is), and what I can do to correct the problem.

I think you will need a scanner that can see the air suspension codes?
Those are pretty deep in the car and outside of the JLR SDD system I don't know what scanner can read them?

Can you fill us in on what work was done already? What was replaced and what were the codes?

When I first received the car the, the alarms on the dash were reading vehicle too low and suspension not in customer mode. I got a mechanic to put his MaxiCom scanner on it and 3 intermittent codes came up; C110E-64 left rear damper solenoid, C1131-92 air supply, and C1A27-15 compressor circuit. It was recommended to me at the time to change out the valve block which I did. That was the only thing that I changed out. The mechanic went missing on me so I went out and purchased my own MaxiCom Autel device. I pressed a lot of buttons just guessing my way through it all. I finally gave up and was about to purchase the SDD thing that I was reading about in other threads. But when I started the car the next day the compressor kicked it and raised all on its own. However, currently, on the dash it says adaptive dynamics fault and air suspension not in customer mode. 2 permanent codes are on the scanner that reads P1905-00 control module configured for end of line test mode and C1130-53 air supply of air spring.

As far i know there are few modes what are "not in customer mode"
- Tight tolerance mode (for adjusting headlamps) - This should reset itself when start driwing. (entering this mode does not require an diag tool)
- Showroom mode (autoheight correction not enabled -> Vehicle is not correcting the height when people are sitting in and out - Saving air resevoir)
- Transportation mode (no idea what is the differense for above? Maybe higher setup for ramps etc?)

Not 100% sure, but i think going out of last two modes is only possible with JRL diag tool (SDD). They are so vehicle specific that no universal diag tool have them. (rarery used, but previous owner migh set them on to keep vehicle up instead of fixing the actual problem)

I can put my 2015 XJR in tight tolerance, showroom and transport mode with my Foxwell NT710 as I did it when I replaced my drivers side adaptive headlight housing.

Hi, Ok. Thanks for information. Good to know.
(tight tolerance can be turned on with driver door / brake pedal too if needed)

Update… I was able to get everything sorted out. I put the scanner back on the car and set the mode to normal mode… I thought it was already in normal mode. But now everything seems to be working as it should… thanks for all the feedback

This sentence is one of those times you can tell a shop is full of crap:

"their solution was to replace the Compressor, Condenser, Dryer and Expansion Valve at $4,400. The shop claims that the Compressor is failing, contaminating the rest of the system."

If it was true that your compressor blew up internally and was circulating debris throughout the system, then you would need a new evaporator as well because modern evaporators have much smaller channels which means they cannot be flushed like the old days. So they would be recommending a $4,400 repair that would cause the system to fail again in a short time.

Either they don't know what the hell they are doing, or they are scamming you.

The AC compressor & suspension compressor are completely different things. Nothing to do with each other.
