Today I got bored and decided to remove my taillights because they’ve been fogging up from the inside. I was honestly surprised by how much dirt had built up over time. I mainly wanted to check if there was anything I could do about it, but you can’t really see much or fix anything from the inside anyway.
Now I’m thinking about having them professionally resealed, which I guess will be cheaper than buying new ones.
Or do u guys have any tips?
I updated my thread https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...st#post2913058 about tail lights which might be useful, I do talk about how I tested if they were leaking or if it was just condensation and also some pictures of what it was like on the inside.
What I would do is take the caps off the back and using a vacuum cleaner on blow see if you get any water out (I did, lots!), if you do it is probably too late as the boards will have been in water. If you do not get any water out, seal the the holes where the caps fit and submerge in water, again if you get water out it might be worth a reseal but if it remains dry after being dipped it is probably just condensation and therefore they should be good.
If you do go for a reseal, please do post how you get on and who you used. I am not sure how viable it is and also I would not want to be without my vehicle while they were off for repair so would need to purchase some used tail lights anyway so I was not without my vehicle.
