Tell me why I shouldn't!
Alright, so I have been eye balling some long body sedans. I drive through the Jag lot today and see a nicely prices XJL, then pull around the back and see 5.0.
All I read are rave reviews!
Tell me what your concerns would be about buying a 2013 XJL Supercharged with 43k miles... because right now I'm about ready to go pick it up!

If it's at a Jaguar dealer and is being sold as Certified Pre-Owned, do it before it's gone! Just make sure it's not too powerful and sporty for your taste. Take it for a long test drive and use Dynamic Mode and the paddle shifters. Bring your favorite CD and listen to the Meridian sound system and play with the settings. Don't be put off by the Stop-Start system. I didn't like it at first but now that I've figured out how to control it with brake pedal pressure, I love it. Although it doesn't have all the bells and whistles of my previous LS460, driving is no comparison; the XJ 5.0L SC is a hoot!
Your biggest concern will be blue lights in your rearview mirror.

I guess my question is: WHY ISN'T IT ALREADY IN YOUR DRIVEWAY?!?!?!?!
Seriously though, the car has more character than anything I've ever driven outside of a Ford GT. It's an absolute perfect balance of luxury and performance. I have to warn you though, its exhaust note in dynamic mode is habit-forming!
I daily drive mine and I couldn't be happier. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the fuel economy too, if you're into that sort of thing.

I have the previous model, (X358 which is a 2007 3 litre XJ6 Sovereign), and when I mentioned the current saloon to the local independent that maintains my car, they said they were an excellent car. The only problem was in early cars when the sunshine roofs could creak and pop when the car went over bumpy roads. Many people were bothered by this, but many weren't and anyway, it was sorted out before 2013. There has been a waterpump issue with the 5 litre engine, but I think this is also sorted now.
If you're buying from a Jaguar main agent in the USA, you'll get an excellent warranty anyway.

As with buying any used car, buyer beware! You must do your own due diligence and do not rely on CarFax or what the seller tells you, unless it is a CPO from a Jaguar dealer. Otherwise, pay to have Pre Purchase Inspections for both mechanical condition and possible collision damage.
Which flavor of 2013 XJ do you want? The 2013 XJ was available in short or long wheelbase versions with choices of 5.0L engines either normally aspirated (385HP) or supercharged (470HP or 510HP SuperSport), and AWD with V6 engines. 5.0L are all RWD. They vary in how they drive, so get the one that best suits your needs.
None.
Fundamentally these are outstanding cars. My only concerns would be condition, price, etc. If it's at a Jaguar dealer it should be CPO'd.
I'd say that the XJ is substantially more reliable than any of its' European competition.
