Default Is there a newb owner section

hi guys, first time jag owner and I’m starting to realize just how different it is from my seamingling simple Cadillac. I literally just figured out how to check the oil level. Anyway, I just bought a new to me 2013 XJ L. I plan to read the owners manual, but I’m wondering if there is a newbie section that covers common issues and questions. Simple things that you guys probably don’t even think of, like the electronic dipstick I mentioned earlier. Thanks!

Welcome to the X351 Forum. You'll find lots of helpful owners and information here. Learn to use the Search function since many questions have already been asked and answered.

There is no "newb owner section", per se, in the X351 Forum but there are "sticky" threads of general interest at the top of the Forum. There is a New Member Area under the General Jaguar Forums homepage for making introductions.

My 2013 has been very reliable, except for the water pump. That's a known weakness, and mine was replaced under warranty at around 30K miles.

I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

Welcome to the forums shwampthing. You need to do a formal intro here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/n...-intro-must-5/
Don't feel bad, this is the first foreign car I've ever owned and it's taking me some time to get used to it too. Especially having to figure it out while your zooming down the road. It lets me know what texting and driving must be like.
Enjoy the drive.

rhomanski - you might want to add more names in your signature. With the 5.0L SC with 470HP, it's "Beauty and the Beast" and "Jekyll and Hyde".

Thanks Stuart S. I'll do a substitute for one of them.

Kind of speaks to the dual nature of the car.

A genteel domestic cat waiting for the jungle cat to be released.

Exactly. A split personality, to fit your every mood and never boring.

Thanks for the help. This is my first to me on a forum and I haven’t figured out how to use yet. It’s not exactly iPhone friendly. It does have a leak in the water pumps, but it’s going on Thursday for a new one.
