O2 Sims, in my experience, never work. I can send you a programmer that will read & flash your ECU and we can look at switching off the P0420 and P0430 that way. You won't 'lose' your tune, and who knows, we might even be able to improve it a little bit

When it comes time to smog the car I will need to reactivate those sensors.

Will this work? This has adjustable gas flow going to the o2 sensor.

Long time no update, but these cats are still giving me a load of headaches. Starting to regret messing around with things. Didn't expect the Christmas tree of codes every 50 miles.

When I went into his shop, I was popping these codes with their top of the line $14,000 machine.
P219A
P219B
P0137
P2096
P0420
P0430

He cleared the codes, and then my OBD II is showing my these after we tightened everything up and went over everything:
P219B
P0430
P2096

I cleared the codes last night and in 30-40 more miles I'll see what pops up again. My guess is that at least a few will still show. The car has no clue what to do with these cats without a tune.

I recently put on those o2 sims and then had to take them off because I was getting those codes too. I took the sims off and the only remaining codes left were the p0430 and p0420 efficiently codes. After they cel came on, I cleared the codes with my scanner, and it went away for good. It has now been 1 week and I havnt gotten any check engine lights. Hope to god that it doesn't come on again. I guess my ecu adapted after various code clearing sessions. I think havin a tune has really helped integrate these cats into the sequence. Next week my pulley goes on and then I am done with my car in terms of mods.

Btw my scanner is a $50 Bosch scanner. Really doesn't matter what type of scan tool you use as long as you can identify the code that is thrown.

Still popping 219B and has a historic fault of 219A. These seem to be the pestering codes that won't go away for me. Everything else for the moment look fine.

You are expelling gas at a higher rate and the rest of your exhaust is not modified. You should really get a tune to work out those bugs. Seems like the Bosch ECU cannot compensate for the extra flow with the stock file.

Are you sure they did not install O2 spacers or 'cheats'?

Think you guys have Denso. We can switch off the cat efficiency codes with an ECU Tune - handheld programmer that you keep.

Is this possible without changing the tune? I have an ETG tune (5.0 XKR) but would like to just have the cat efficiency turned off

Yes, we can go in and just change one parameter. However, it's not really much difference from our point of view, and I believe based on some F-Type files I have seen that we could improve upon your tune anyway

No spacers or cheats. Took a good look at the install at my friends shop and short of a few things that needed tightened up it looked all good to go. Even with everything snug and fit I'm still popping the P219A/B codes, although it seems to be only those two codes for now.

Car sounds great btw... On the 200 cel cats I have Magnaflow on an auto of mine and they flow greatly and adjust the sound aggression too! plus they are substantially cheaper can save a bucks as well.

It's been mentioned many times but i'll put here again, do not put spacers/extenders on your downstream O2 sensors. The downstream sensors are also used to manage fuel trims, attempt to trick the sensors and you will have a heap of trouble...

Like this stack of codes...

P219A Bank 1 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance
P219B Bank 2 Air-Fuel Ratio Imbalance
P0137 O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P2096 Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Lean (Bank 1) <<== hello!
P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 1)
P0430 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold (Bank 2)

If you just fit cats and do nothing all you get is the P0420 and P0430

As for why the P219A and P219B are still sticking around, you probably need to do a "hard reset" aka leave the battery off for a while, or do the "full vehicle reset" routine with SDD to get rid of them.

I just fit the cats and did nothing else and got my laundry list of codes. I have not done anything at all to the 02's. From your post you seem to be accusing me of doing something to them listing the codes that I had pop up, when I've said several times nothing was done other than the cat swap. It's annoying when I have said before that the only thing that was done was a CAT install which was perfect sans a small leak which was buttoned up.

The reason I'm posting here is to give someone else who may run into issues a chance of fixing them, or at least something to compare to. I'm hoping to eventually not have a CEL on every 30 miles.

For now, I'm still getting P219B's and a historical P219A. I'm okay with these until I can get some sort of tune.

For me, I just kept clearing the codes and the problem went away for me. I only have the cat efficiency codes from time to time and thats all. Keep clearing the codes and the ECU should re-learn.
