Default What brand of gas?

Was wondering what brand of Gas people here are using on their XJ's and if you notice a difference?

I have the supercharged engine and my car does not like BP, it idles very rough when I use it especially when it's cold almost seems like it's misfireing. The car runs a lot better with Shell or Mobile in my experience. I always use 93 octane.

I don't have any issues using the BP on my other cars from the same gas station. Maybe it's because the XJ is direct injected and is more sensitive to the ethanol content than other cars although every gas station I have been to in my area says it uses 10% ethanol or less.

I haven't had any trouble with the brand of gas though the octane level has given me issues. I have to stay above 91 or my car has fits.

I have used every brand in my area and I haven't had any problems. I onlyl use 93 octane. I don't go to certain gas staions because they charge extra for high test. I save at 4o to 50 cents every time I get gas. I sure am getting cheap in my old age.

We only get 91 octane here on the west coast. I typically use Mobil because it is the most convenient gas station for me but I do notice that I get slightly worse gas mileage with Mobil (1-2 mpg less) compared to when I fill up with Chevron or Shell

I go to "Sam's Club" and have had no problems. They only serve 89 & 93 and I use the 93 naturally. Their gas is usually 20 -25 cents cheaper per gallon than most. I will also use Exxon and Shell if I have to and there's no difference in performance.

Thanks for the responses, I guess it's just this particular BP gas station that makes my car run like crap. I have been going there for years since it's the closest one to my house and never had any problems but ever since I got my XJ I notice a big difference in the idle quality of the car when I use that gas, but works fine in my other cars, weird.

My friends in the petrochemical industry tell me that all of the different brands' gas comes from the same local refineries. The only real difference is the additives they claim to put in.

Some stations can have old or contaminated tanks (water, dirt, foreign objects).

Gotta feed baby good food!
