Default What does those code mean: P5500, C0200, P0201

Hi, the engine warning light turned on today. I have a OBD scanner and it found 3 error codes.

C0200: Area: Vehicle speed controls and idle control system. No Description
P0201: Area: Vehicle speed controls and idle control system. No Description
P5500: No Description

Though I will give the car to the dealership to fix after all, it is still helpful if some one can explain a bit on those codes.

Thanks

To fully interrogate a modern Jaguar requires the equivalent of dealer diagnostics which can read the vehicle's extended codes. The format for these is X1234-56 in which the first letter is sector (P = Powertrain, C = Chassis etc), the first 4 numeric are the standard or manufacturer defined OBD codes and the final 2 numeric give additional information to assist with diagnostics.

Anything other than the Jaguar DTC lookup can also often be misleading when decoding.

I recognise is P0201 (which usually appears as P0201-13 in extended code): Cylinder 1 injector circuit fault. The possible causes of this are open circuit, high resistance or a disconnected injector. This alone is sufficient to trigger the MIL.

I think C0200 is a wheel speed sensor error but I don't have the lookup table for your specific model to be able to determine which one. Several Jaguar models suffer wheel speed sensor faults and these are usually either just dirty or a poor harness connection.

I have no idea about P5500 as I've never come across a 'P' code in that high range.

I am fairly sure P5500 does not exist so find out if it's a typo or what.

The app I am using is "Smart Control Pro" and it says "P5500". I guess the app need a bit more polishing.

Thanks for all the replies and I got some background knowledge before going to the dealership.
