what next ??
As you can see in my signature block, I've had many different Jaguars. My current ride (besides my 2011 XKR) is a 2012 XJ8L Portfolio supercharged with 77000. Thoroughly enjoy driving this fantastic ride in town and particularly on the road. As you can see, the mileage is getting up there. If I were to trade for a later year with all of the bells and whistles, what would be your recommendations and why.....
thanks for the input... I appreciate your time and remarks.

kenatofc, like what amlarson2001 said, you barely have broken the motor in. These motors should last out to 300,000 miles with no issues requiring a major overhaul with standard maintenance. Will you have other issues, sure. But, for what you would pay to get a lower mileage unit, that will cover the repairs you are going to encounter.
Now, if you are dead set on getting a new(er) car, I would hang on to the XKR for the summer days of free spirited driving with the top down and then look for a 2019 XJ with all the options that you want. I am sure you have figured out it would have been nice to have gotten XXXXXX or not gotten YYYYYYY option. Do your looking, find the exact car that you want and get that. I say a 2019 as that is the last year that the car was made and will be the newest you can get. Based on the miles that you drive a year, you should get many, many years out of that car. I think the only unknown you will have is whether you want the supercharged 5.0L engine for the sportiness or go with the supercharged V6 so you can get the AWD for the winter driving (and improved traction). This is where a test drive is going to make that decision fairly easy for you. The 5.0L is going to drive like the XKR, great in a straight line and decent in the corners. The V6 is going to be respectable in a straight line, but will drive circles around the XKR on curves. This would give you 2 different driving experiences.

Thank you both....
I will proceed with the 2012. It drives fantastically !!! and has almost new tires !!
I will keep my 11 XKR convertible with only 36 k miles. Was sitting on the back of it yesterday in
the Veteran's Day Parade in our city. I only drive it in fair wx and keep it clean in my garage or
on my lift.
