Anyone know what he up-charge was for the Meridian surround system (20 speaker)...?

I know that it is standard now - but the standard Meridian system used to be 8 speakers.

 

I just have the upcharge for the German model year 2012. That was €3000 for XJ Luxury and XJ Premium Luxury and €2000 for XJ Portfolio and XJ Supersport.

 

Here is the 2013 pricing sheet the dealers received.

 

The 825W Meridian Surround Sound System was standard equipment on my 2013 XJ SWB 5.0L SC.

 

You mean the dealer can upgrade from 825W Meridian to 1300W Meridian Reference? Sweet...
I have yet to find a used XJ with 1300w Meridian.

 

Yes I think they are very rare. After I looked at the differences I was not interested anymore.
The additional speakers are mounted in the back of the front seats. The goal was to deliver a proper sound field to all passenger positions.

Not something I thought I could hear driving the car. It does include conversation assist.
So maybe you would want that?

Since I have removed a few things on my car I am kind of shocked at the low quality and Chinese made audio stuff in my XJ.
I saw someone upgrade their door woofers and the low cost aftermarket speakers he used were just made so much better it was a shame!

I've got the 1200W system. I've never been an audiophile and just completed a 5.1 surround system in my living room. I have taken for granted the XJ's surround sound and now I find myself searching for new music on Spotify that has sound that can be spread across the system.

I'm unable to play via usb connected to my iPhone, so lower fidelity bluetooth or AUX will have to do.

 

The new Acura RDX has ELS 3D audio with speakers overhead. Now I would love to hear *that*!

 

$2300 USD on mine.
