When you bring your car in for service, what kind of loaner does your dealer provide?

I brought my XJL in for the creaky roof recall work a couple weeks ago and they gave me a Toyota Corolla with 25,000 miles on it, that they rented from Enterprise. I was less than pleased, to say the least.

So I was wondering if this was typical of Jaguar dealers across the country or if my dealer is just too cheap to provide a car off the lot?

My dealer has an on-site Enterprise rental and I usually get an XF but they do have a few non-Jaguars in the pool. Usually not an issue for me because I usually make my appointments for 7am and am usually the first customer of the day so I get first pick.

Whatever fine, hand-crafted, smelly four door chrysler the enterprise desk has on the lot.

I usually get a new XF, but I have been stuck with an Enterprise off brand when they ran out of in-house loaners. It does help to get there early.

I'm driving a red 2012 XF right now while I'm in for annual service and annual NY State inspection.

My dealer seems to have moved from a mix of XFs and Volvos to exclusively XFs. This is a significant change for the better, I think.

My dealer in Norwood MA has a 2011 XJ regular version that's the usual loaner, so that's not a too shabby replacement for my SC when I had they work on the roof issue last year. I usually don't ask for a loaner 'cause I have other cars at the house, so the dealer usually send someone to pick up and drop it off since they're about 10 minutes away via highway. Service been superb at the dealership.

Always get an enterprise piece of crap. But I never get there early either. Not even sure if my dealer loans out Jags or only enterprise cars.

Follow up to my earlier comment. When I call for an appointment I request a Jag and if it's not available I schedule the visit for when it is. I learned this the hard way by taking my car in and not specifying. I too had an Enterprise lovely!! My problem was the Enterprise dealer was 15 miles away and had to shuttle to it......... So inquire when you make your appt.

So far XF 2011 or 2012
LandRover 2012. I liked the LandRover better.

I was lent the dealer's 2012 XF last week as a loaner; they used to have an Aston for a loaner (they sell Aston, Bentley, Porche as well as Jag/LR) but I've never been lucky enough to get it.

The wife took my XJL in today for some maintenance and they gave her an 2012 Land Rover. I guess it helps as the Momentum dealership I bought from is /Jaguar/LandRover/Volvo/Porsche.

I did not receive a loaner when I took in my XJL for the creaking roof. I did not ask for one as I had another car to use. However, I have a friend who has a Mini and when she takes it in she got a newer model Mini as a loaner. She is considering buying a newer model. She called them on giving her a newer loaner and they said they were hoping she would be interested in it to buy a newer model. Dealers lose an opportunity to sell a car when they give you the Enterprise special

I go between 2 Jaguar Dealers for service.

1) *Normal Dealer* Sells Jaguar/Land Rover/Volvo...I can pick what I want when I book in advance, usually 2012 XF, 2012 LR2 or 2012 S40. Uses Enterprise for extras

2) *Back-Up Dealer* Sells Jaguar/Land Rover/BMW...Usually 3-series or X3, enterprise for extras.

Over the last 5 years of my two different Jaguar ownerships ('05 XK8 and '08 XK) I got everything from an X-type to a Chevy Impala to a brand new XJ Supercharged.

It was the last time when they were going to hand me an economy car that I asked if I could rather get that brand new XJ SC right on their lot with the window stickers still on. To my surprise they said; sure, no problem. Following my full day of fun with the XJ I was sold on the car and now I've purchased a new one. So, it proved to be a good move from the dealer to lend it to me.

Maybe my dealer loans me smelly dodges and chryslers because he wants me to buy one of those instead. Shrug.
My neighbors drive their bmws and lexus leavers around when they get service. I know because instead of their usual car, they have a replacement with a big window sucker that says "loaner" on it.

During my very last and less than pleasant visit to my local dealer I asked if I brought them a beat up old piece of sh*t car to repair would they give me a shiny new Jag as a loaner. The service manager obviously didn't get it.........
