Can anyone give me an idea if your engines sound similar to mine. Its a 2011 XJ 351 5.0L V8. I am not sure if this ticking is normal. Here is a link to the video:

Hard to say but with DI (Direct Injection) they will all have this type of sound.
Some worse than others.

Big question is has it changed?
Then I would check into it further.

I'm in the middle of an engine swap because mine had a very similar tick. It was the Vvt timing. The tensioners had failed and caused the chain to eat up all the gears, also somehow caused irreparable damage to my left camshaft. I'd get it checked asap. If it's the injectors, it's not as loud of a tick and you can actually out your ear up to the injectors and tell it's them ticking.

If it's the timing issue the tick comes out of the front of the motor and sounds more tinny, and is much more noticeable like a light metal tap almost.

 

Do you get a diagnosis yet?
