Exclamation XJ 3.0D 300PS Turbo Actuator Stuck High (Restricted Performance)

As I was pushing down the motorway the other day, I got the first performance issue since I bought the car 9 months ago. It's a 2016 XJ 3.0D 300PS engine with 54k miles.

I carried on driving for another 30 miles, parked the car, went shopping and when I returned to the car about 45 minutes later, the message was gone and the car performance was back to normal.

I had this happen twice more recently, turning the car off for 30-60 seconds fixes the problem...

I'm no mechanic but when I got home, I plugged SDD in and I found two DTCs: (I don't have access to Topix docs)
  • P259B-71 Turbocharger boost control position sensor B performance - Stuck High (actuator is stuck)
  • P004B-77 Turbo/supercharger boost control solenoid B - circuit range/performance (commanded position not reachable)
I'd appreciate your expert opinion and whether it's something that I can "fix" to prevent this from happening again. Can I repair the solenoid/actuator, replace it without going down the turbo route?

Also, what could be the cause of this? Not sure if related, but I normally use standard diesel, and I have recently filled my car with premium diesel on the last two visits at the garage.

Many thanks

zYx, we are missing a key clue to solving this. what exactly happened before you went shopping??? Was it just the message or was there something else?

Well, the performance was reduced, meaning there was no boost. Nothing else happened. I use the car daily, but for short journeys.

I would check the wastegate first. make sure it is opening and closing when it should.

zYx you should head over to the Pommy forum here: https://www.jaginfo.org//
Much more diesel action and zero diesel Jags in the US.

It may be a different case than yours.

It's most likely a second turbine problem. On the valve starts leaking, first. After some time, turbine is likely to be affected. It also affects DPF. This problem occured in most 3.0D engines Jags/LRs, in my country. JLR(in my country) has been free repairing turbines on vehicles within 5 years and 80,000 km(No extended service required). They said the turbine has improvements. Before turbine replacement(my case) :
