XJ timing issue again..
Hi,
I searched around the site but didn’t find a clear answer.
1984 XJ6
when Cylinder 1 at the firewall is at TDC why is the distributor pointing 180 out at cyl 6?
distributor is keyed to only go in one way.
I want to get it figured out before I put in my shiny new Pertronix.
One last attempt before I have to tow it 80 miles to a jag shop in IL.
thx!
Andy

I think I found the 180 degree off issue.
I looked at the rebuilt dist that was in the car next to the pertronix dist. The cog that indexes in the engine is 180 off.
Simple issue and I’ll put it in and see if it’ll get going.
