Default 1995 XJ6 hesitating to turn over

No strange noises or anything just a weak/slow start/turnover.

Is this a starter issue?

Thanks as always fellas!!

Some thought starters...

Weak battery, starter about to expire, dirty/loose battery cables, dirty/loose "+" junction connections in the engine bay.

A combination of all 3 wouldn't be unusual.

Cheers

"dirty/loose "+" junction connections in the engine bay."

Were would I find these?

My voltage meter is reading 15 on the dash....

I will have to check all this stuff this weekend.

Thanks again folks!

There are 4 or 5 of them. The right and left engine bay fuse boxes each have one and there are 2 or 3 on the engine bay firewall/bulkhead.

The starter high amp supply is from one of the firewall/bulkhead posts but I don't know which one offhand. You'll see the posts....heavy cables and a rubber protective cap

Cheers

The ignition switch could be making a poor connection in the start position.

The 1995 XJ VP has a 5 second start count. Dont worry about the slow start. Just turn the key count to five and she will start. The operator manual says the same thing.
