Fan clutch woes, Im told I need NAC2215AA but this doesn’t appear to be available in the UK but does show in the states, any good Co’s across the pond who ship parts to GB ? Or perhaps some one here knows of alternative part ?
FAN CLUTCH... that's American for viscuous fan! Now I know what you mean Stu.
I've never thought much about it. I know that if it leaks oil, that is bad. So is it something that should be replaced as a matter of preventive maintenance, to optimize cooling efficiency? How do we know if it is "worn out"?
You can buy 7 Uro parts clutches for the price of ONE new original Jaguar. Hmmm.
I wondered why I had no response to my “viscous” post, no one knew what I was talking about 😂. The fan clutch has a spring that expands with heat and turns a small valve. This increases the friction in the unit making the fan spin faster. My spring was all gummed up, so I removed and cleaned but the valve was seized. I freed this off and refitted the fan whilst manually turning the valve, which made no difference to the friction or fan speed, so assume internals of fan clutch are knackered. As my engine feels hotter than hell, I thought this should be addressed sooner rather than later.
