Default Fan Clutch Replacement

Any tips for me before I commence replacing my 5.3 fan clutch with a OEM part? Thanks in advance.

Other than tight working quarters it's the same as any other fan clutch job. Get some extra fine thread nuts as, if you're anything like me, you'll drop a couple into the abyss.

Oh, another thing. On installing the new clutch get all the nuts started on 1-2 threads before running any of them down all the way. You'll see why.

Smooth, by the book, Sunday afternoon project.

I was going to replace my clutch and fan (it has a crack in it)..is it better to eliminate it and just go with electric?

Lots of guys prefer electric. There are several "plus" aspects and no "cons"...other than the installation itself.....which isn't too bad if you're reasonably handy.

what about electric waterpumps? Good, bad or indifferent? It seems to me they'd be more consistant because their speed doesn't change and could easily be wired to circulate even after the engine was shut down.
