Different VIN'S!?

Different VIN'S!?

General question: On the the sticker on the door jam and everywhere else there is a VIN sticker on my car the VIN is SAJNV5841HC138***. But just in front of the windscreen wiper grille under the hood (where those braces shoot off from) there is a totally different VIN: SAJJNVEV4HC138*** which is engraved into the car. what is it? maybe a manufacturer code?

Right. The vin on the door stickers, windshield, are added to meet USA/Canadian requirements. The vin on the cowl panel...the one the car was born with...is used in most other countries.

Just a thought.

It might be a good idea to record the VIN that does not appear on the registration in case identification is necessary after a theft.
