- I have good access with swaybar off but not sure how to remove it, don't want to snap the plastic! I'm assuming I have to get a flat blade screwdriver in somewhere? I can feel it moving but something is locking it that I don't want to break...

 

Same as the inline 6 engine version , so might ask there

The column I think is the same on X100 and later X308

 

To answer my own question for the forum, there are two multiplugs attached to the US spec rack, one front left when facing vehicle, another rear right by the column. To remove there is a small metal clip at the rear of the plug that you prise out at the side of the plug to remove with a small hooked pick and keep somewhere safe. When removing the rack be sure to disconnect the rear clip as it is easy to miss before you unbolt and isn't mentioned in the workshop manual.

Edit: apparently if you push down on the wire at rear of the plug it releases, no need to remove the pin
