I've recently checked with my local dealer about duplicate keys for my '92 XJ6 and '96 XJ12. Both are the same key. US Spec X300's do not have an immobilizer, so they use the same tibbe key that the XJ40's use.
The dealer wanted something like $90 for each key (parts) and free cutting.
You can get ILCO style generic keys online and eBay, and just have your locksmith cut them. Tibbe keys are easy to read. There are 3 positions for each landing on the key.
Here's a link about reading the key codes.
Some online key sellers will cut them for you for a small fee. Much less than $90 per key.
