Did you ever sort out the P0410 code? I have started to get the same code on my 96 XJ12. It clears but returns a day later.

Doubtful. He's long gone from here. Apparently there was little help to be found from the "experts and serious mechanics" here! Lol

P0410: Air Injection failure.

Does the air injection pump run at startup, and cycle on and off while idling? If not, then the relay might be bad or loose. It is the one in the middle of the group of three, on the right hand side of the engine compartment, behind the right headlights. Also check the air pump fuse: F16 (red, 10A) in the right side engine compartment fuse box.

Check the air hoses coming from the pump, a breach in one of those could possibly cause a code.

Be sure the drive belt for the air pump is in very good condition or better. It is also the belt that drives the coolant pump, and we want to be sure that coolant pump always turns smartly!
