I did several searches on this site before joining to ask. Im sure someone will still ask if I searched, since that seems to be the theme with new members. My manual says 5.45qt. Its not supercharged. It took 6.5qt. Why is this?

 

In the Vehicle Specs Booklet (VSB 07/2004) your engine oil capacity is 6.0 liters (6.4 Quarts)

The first two years owner handbooks [X350 2004-2005] listed the incorrect oil capacity. For some reason Jag elected NOT to issue corrections or revised books.

I see. You'd think It would matter more. It had me checking to see if my drain plug came loose. I even poured the used oil into the empty 5qt jug and qt bottle to see how much came out.

 

I was wondering since it takes 6.5 qts. if you added a 1 quart instead of a 1/2 quart would you cause any or create a problem ??
