04 XJR - Recommendations for wheel spacers?
'04 XJR: I took the right rear wheel off to attempt to fix a slow leak and realized there was some rubbing between the tire and the wheel liner that could actually explain some of the humming noise that I kept hearing all along. There is some rubber missing on the tire. A 3 - 5mm spacer should fix the problem. My research shows that there are quite a few "universal" wheel spacers that fit the car but it appears that it may be a challenge to keep them centered on the hub. Looking for any recommendations on wheel spacers that you may have used that are headache free to install/center.
Rims are standard Sepang 20" and tires are Lexani 255/35ZR20 - the car sits on coil overs (Stutmaster) and it does sit lower than stock due to these coil overs (not by design necessarily)
TIA!

I found these too: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/stq-56050253
I wonder if the studs would need to be replaced just to gain 5mm?

I am surprised that you have such rubbing with the normal specs wheels/tires.
I have much bigger tires on my SV8 (255/40 R20 instead of 255/35 R20) and it does not rub.
Also some folks here have mounted even bigger tires on the rear (up to 275) and I don't think they needed spacers...

Since converting to coil overs, the car sits lower than what it normally would and I suspect that's contributing to the problem possibly. I have the spacers on order (5mm) - we'll see if that fixes the problem....
Hi, Id like to put 255/40 R20s on Sepangs on my 2007 XJR to soften the ride. My understanding is that a 40 vs a 35 aspect ratio tire will add an inch to the total wheel height. When I look in the wheel well I can see that there is only about a 1/2 inch clearance between the current 35 aspect ratio tire and the upper wishbone ball joint bolt. Will a 40 fit? What am I missing here? Thanks!

Hi
Looking at the tire size calculator going from 255/35-20 to 255/40-20 will increase overall height by one inch, but sidewall height (radius) by 0.5 inches.
My car had 245/40-20 when I bought it and had no clearance issues. If in doubt, get one tire fitted and try it out.
