Car was running fine until it sat for over a year. I have since aquired the car and now everything works but the car is throwing a p0705 code and will not turn over. I have replaced my j gate with a known working gate and also performed the reset and done the adjustment procedure for the shifter cable and the safety interlock cable. Car still will not turn over and the code is permanent. My next guess is to pull the trans pan and check out the inner workings of the trans. Any suggestions would be great.

 

Resolved. Selector slider in trans had a broken nipple. So it was telling the car it was in drive when it was in park.
