2004 jaguar XJR ballast
Does 2004 jaguar XJR ballast comes with 4 or 12 pins.
I'm looking pictures, both descriptions claiming they are
fitting 2004-2009 but pictures show 2 different pins
connections count.
Please somebody make sense which one would be correct?
I just don't want to made guess and to buy wrong one

Now I have ballasts and bulbs, how to replace them?
For some reasons among billions of YouTube videos
I couldn't found even 1 that show how-to replace them
on 2004+ Jaguar XJR.
I remember reading how a few years back and recall that
to replace ballasts, I need to remove bumper cover but
that's all I remember. So, is anybody tried that before and
can provide short how-to or maybe link to YouTube video?

Extract, as you said:
....light ballast located under the headlight assembly that failed. This required removing the front bumper cover.

Jaguar xjr by sarka on the ring on youtube to tske the bumper off just put it down on the floor next to 5he car with a cardboard .
unscrew the headlights from the front
Unplug the cable connector sn inspect for greenspan.
Ballast is underneath. Install the new buls as well do not touch with bare hands.
!!! New ballast Lad5g from Valeo do not support headlight leveling anymore wich I suppose you still have on G10000 and even G14000. You might end up wit a orange light on the dash... in that case you can lie and switch over sdd to Halogen in the main info of the car.
as long as you still have airsuspension it is ok . With coilovers adjust manually.

There is a great piece of advice from a very knowledgeable member of this community, Don B. Let me quote him:

The bumper cover has three sort of D-shaped tabs along its top edge that slip into the seam, and the opening in each D tab clips over a raised projection or tapered stud along the lower edge of the seam. You can just pull the fender cover out, but some or all of the D tabs may break. I learned this the hard way. Here's a method that may not be Jaguars approved procedure, but it works for me without breaking the D-tabs:
Apply two layers of masking tape along the upper and lower edges of the seam to protect the paint.
Using two narrow flat-bladed screwdrivers, insert one screwdriver inside the D-clip but on each side of the raised stud, so both ends of the D-clip have a screwdriver under them. While pushing in slightly on the bumper cover, carefully pry up on the D-clip with both screwdrivers until it clears the stud. Place a plastic trim prying tool or some other object between the bumper cover and body to prevent the cover from snapping back into place.
Repeat for each of the D-clips until the bumper cover is free.
If you haven't yet removed the grille, it's easy. Just remove the two Torx screws on the top corners of the grille, carefully pry apart the plastic where it snaps over a round tapered stud, and the entire grille will pull forward and out.
Cheers,
Don
