Question 2004 XJ Vanden Plas Only Passenger-Side A/C Correct

Hi there,

I'm new to the forum and the Jaguar community, having bought a 2004 XJ Vanden Plas for a pretty low price, as a fun second car. One of the issues I've noticed---and there are several---concerns a difference between the driver and passenger vent output when the A/C is maxed out. If I set the driver and passenger sides to LO, sync'ed or not, the passenger side seems to put out air that's the proper temperature, from both the center and side vents. Meanwhile, the driver's side center vent blows slightly warmer air, and the driver's side far vent appears to just be blowing room-temperature air, with no chill to it whatsoever.

What could be the cause of the temp difference between sides? My local Jaguar specialist suggested a heater control valve, but is there anything else that might be doing it?

Thanks!
