RE: 2004 XJ8
http://www.texascarsdirect.com/Publi....aspx?id=2645A This is the car here.A 50k drivetrain and a/c warranty runs2 grand. The place sells alot of used Jags.I've been to their warehouse and their inventory seems pretty clean and they are almost exclusively Jaguar and Land Rover. My guess is that the car is lease return as it seems most used Jags are.I'm interested in how well these cars hold up.Can you get 200k out of them?

Yea, I've also been there and can attest to their quality. I deal with Gary and hes also been really nice and helpful. Even after the sale they will make things right if there is a problem. I'm thinking about buying an XJR from them. I looked at the car and have noticed they have some great deals on XJ8s right now, it looks great, esp for that price! So you know, the only main option it is missing is navigation. It has the 18" wheels, xenons, heated seats, and alpine sound. I dont think id try to get 200k miles out of this car but then again I wouldnt with any modern car unless it was a big diesel truck. Is this price a stretch for you or a drop in the bucket? If its a stretch id suggest just waiting until you can afford one with CPO warranty as some of their cars already have or buy one still in warranty and buy the CPO yourself for around $2k. If its a drop in the bucket and you cant get bumper to bumper with them id suggest just trying your luck and if it breaks a lot sell it and move on. I dont think anyone in the country touches their price on a regular basis.

I haven't seen anyone close to their prices either. Its just is 30k and navi worth 6 or 7 grand. If these cars are generally solid I'd drive it til the miles hit the 90's and sell it.If it was a 5 series I wouldn't blink at the miles I'm just not asfamiliar with these '04 up XJ8's.From what I hear alot of quality issues were cleared up with this model.A reliable car with an XJ's looks and class would be just too cool. The price really isn't an issue but like anyone I'm always looking for the best deal.I know it's not just what you spend, but what you get for what you spend.

yeah if you are just going to keep it for 30k miles or so then I'd go for it. It sounds like if need be you can fix it. If you are a BMW guy too ill sell you my 7 series although it will cost you twice as much lol. They had some XJs with like 40k miles there though for low 20s so if you arent in a hurry it might be worth the wait. Otherwise it looks like a solid buy if you dont mind running without the warranty.
