Default 2004 XJ8 parking lockout module - RESOLVED

What is the part no. for xj8 parking/ignition lockout module? Due to sunroof seal failure, module was damaged. Where is module located? Also, module prevents key removal, so it gets complicated. If it was me I would have waterproofed all electronics to prevent these issues. As it stands, car is in neutral with key in key location #1 and not removeable. Battery is disconnected. Very sad state of affairs. Module part number and location urgently requested. HELP!
Note: key#1 is "accessory."

There is no parking ignition lockout module on these cars. Three different control units are involved in the process of key transponder recognition and ignition lock release. The vehicle should first be checked with original OBD equipment to get a clue.

What makes you think it is water damage?

With foot on brake you should be able to move to Park position. Then if you move the lever left you should hear the switch indicate moving from Park. If the switch can be heard you would next check that the solenoid in the J-Gate is moving. Both of these need to work to remove key.

Bad seals or blocked drain tubes? I would bet the latter.
