Question 2004 XJ8 VDP Correct White Spray Paint

I went down to my local jaguar dealer in Orlando to get some white spray paint as I am looking to replace a rear parking sensor which come as "black".

The Jaguar dealership does not sell spray paint and you have to order the "Touch up" paint, they do not keep it in stock!

They did tell me the paint code is "NEG" not sure what that stands for "Onyx White"???

My question is, why can I buy the correct White Spray Paint for this job?

Many thanks, David

You can buy aerosol cans of the correct paint on the internet, and I have a can in my garage for my car. I have to tell you, though, that this is the third can I bought, and the third supplier as the first two did not match very well. Onyx White may be easier. However, as you're only painting a little parking sensor any slight mis-match won't matter.

You can also get cans from motor factors, although not all may have the mixing equipment. You must quote the paint code, of course for either option.

Where is the paint code physically located on the vehicle?

I believe on the tag that has the vin, date of manufacture and trim code. I forgot behind which door. I want to say drivers front.

It's a 3 letter code. I have to jot mine down and order touch up paint and clear myself.
