my 2004 XJ8 has a whine when the AC is on,hear it more when i give it the gas,when i shut the AC off its gone,i have heard if your freon is low that could cause it,it does blow cold air but not real cold,any thoughts appreciated

I had this on my 2003 XJ6, and also my second XJ, a 2007, and regas cured it. Included in a normal regas is the lube for the compressor, and that is what makes the whine.
