Greetings!
I own a body shop specialized in BMW and Mercedes in the greater Los Angeles area. A few weeks ago we got in a XJ8 with a minimal side impact. The car was towed in and parked...To make a long story short, I fell in love with this car. When the insurance CO. totaled it - I bought it! Now, I just re-charged the battery, everything seems to work great inside - I tried to crank it but it wont start. I depressed the Inertia/shutoff switch but still nothing. It seems like there is no fuel coming. I have never worked ona Jag - what do you suggest? 2004 XJ8 with 58K miles on it.
Thanks!

Check the fuse for the inertia switch and the fuel pump fuse and relay, check the inertia switch to be sure it is working right.

I had same problem... but could not find the inertia switch. No owners manual, and repair manual did not show details. Was not by passenger fuses... looked on drivers sided and there is a porthole and symbol with a fuelpump and "reset". Pressed it and it did not feel like it was triggered. But it started after that! I had started it before and it ran 1s and just died. It had sat in the rain so I thought it got wet somewhere. Could not find anything wet. But found the driver side drain tube completely disconnected so I put that back on.
