I swore that I saw some information previously regarding XJ8's stalling, but perhaps I am mistaken. Anyhow, I am a week old owner of a 2004 XJR. Left home 2 days ago in the morning, pulled into traffic accelerated and hit 30 mph and suddenly nothing, car died. Coasted to the side and restarted without incident. No engine lights or other warnings. Can someone lead me to any known problems with this so I can ask the dealer to look at this?

I would also appreciate any specific info regarding locations of interior cabin leaks on this 2004. I was not able to see the sunroof drains, but did find the pollen filter drain easily. I fixed my trunk leaks myself with silicone as the original body was stiff and had cracks in it.

Throttle position sensor and you have to buy it with the Throttle body a Thousand Bucks if you let the dealership install it.

 

You can buy the part on line for 400 bucks and get someone local to install

 

This happened to me a couple of times when I first got the car - turned out to be me hitting that huge ignition key with my knee; I doubt if this is your problem but thought it was worth mentioning!
