Default 2004 XJR Transmission issue/Question

Hey all,

Havent been in the XJ section lately as I picked up an XKR in need of some tlc.

Well my XJR developed an issue where it slips going into first now and again. Ive never been happy with the way it shifts but this isnt good.

NOW I bought a filter/pan kit and fluid and went to do the drain/fill however I was not in the mood to break a bolt so after draining I just refilled with new fluid, drove, checked level , topped it off then went on my way. Fluid looked fine an ddidnt smell burt

No codes, no check engine lights, No transmisison fault.

Could this be me needing a reflash? Does this transmisison have issues with valvebody valves such as the 5 speeds do?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Any upgrades I can do if I need to pull the valve body?

Thanks!

Damon

Reset an adaptations firs, then reflash it with the most currens s/w (SDD v.134-up. Avoid usage of SDD v.138, since there was 2 issues with tranny flashing on a S-type and X350 last week.)
