Hi,

I am looking to get my first Jaguar. It is a 2005 Jaguar XJ8 Vanden Plas with 62 000KM and I wanted to see if you guys can give me any advice. Is there anything that I should be aware of? Common problems that might come up with the certain mileage or in the near future. I will certainly get it checked out buy a mechanic who deals with Jags but I wanted to get an view from people who actually own them and have some experience. I've heard the self leveling air suspension has problems over time and are really expensive to fix? I've also noticed the grill in the front is not mesh, did Jaguar make two different styles for the Vanden Plas. I see some on the same year car with the mesh and some without? I have attached some pictures.

If anyone has any information I would really appreciate it ! Any feed back would help me out.

I have moved your thread from the forum for the X308 to the forum for the X350 and X358, which are the Jaguar factory project codes for the XJ sedans, or "saloons" in British lingo, offered from 2003 to 2009.

Regarding the grilles, the mesh type were typically offered on the supercharged models (XJR, Super V8), but some owners retrofitted the mesh grilles into non-supercharged cars.
