My 2005 XJ8 Vanden Plas is leaking coolant. I've had the thermostat replaced, the water pump replaced and it's STILL leaking abundant amounts of coolant....it's not just a drip, but puddles on the garage floor....can't seem to find the cause, any suggestions would be appreciated! The low coolant light comes on daily....I can fill the reservoir and the next day the light is on again.....

Might be the hose that runs underneath the intake manifold. Does the puddle seem to be coming from the rear of the engine, near the gearbox?

My X350 is doing the same. After I removed the undertray and the black shield that fits at the bottom of the radiator (in front of it) I was able to see the bottom of the radiator. It has somehow got damaged and is leaking, mainly from the rear side. I had to wait for the engine to get warm before it really showed.

Welcome to the forum JagXJ8Bled,

If it's not coming from the radiator, there's a few branches on the top and bottom hoses of the N/A X350 V8 could be the source of the leak:

Not trying to interrupt but at what mileage should radiator hoses be replaced? Replaced the valley hose last time the intake manifold was removed, but was in pretty good shape, still flexable not brittle or hard. The radiator hose is soft when cold can be squeezed easily, hard when up to temperature, no leaks or smell of coolant, no issues yet, but at almost 93,000 miles will try to change this winter.

Seems now I've got a leak from towards the front of the engine, dripping from around the oil filter.

Update: Just found an older post about a leaking water pump check hole, which drips its way down towards the front of the oil pan. That sounds like it may be the culprit. Will have to check tonight.

UPDATE: I don't think it's the water pump anymore. I believe it may be coming from either the engine oil cooler or the hoses that feed it. We'll crawl under tonight and find out.

EDIT: Nevermind. It is indeed the water pump that's leaking.
